Huntersville is a young town with plumbing that isn't young anymore. Most of the houses here went up between the mid-1990s and the mid-2010s, which means the water heaters, valves, and supply lines the builder put in are now hitting the age where they start giving out. Macaw Plumbing & Tankless is a family-owned, licensed plumbing company serving Huntersville and north Mecklenburg County. Jonathan Johns — NC licensed master plumber, license #L.35944 — does the work himself. When something goes wrong with the plumbing, you want a straight answer from the person actually doing the repair. That's how we run this business. Jonathan handles every Huntersville job personally, from a running toilet to a full water heater replacement, and Sierra handles scheduling and communication so you're never left wondering when someone is coming. We're a family business — MACAW is our five kids' initials — and we work the way a neighbor would. Honest assessment, clear explanation, fair price, clean work. No call center, no commissioned technician, no pressure to buy something you don't need.
Macaw Plumbing & Tankless offers a full range of plumbing services built around what Concord homeowners actually deal with. Cabarrus County has a real mix of housing — older homes near downtown Concord with aging supply lines and cast iron drains, and newer subdivisions that have grown up fast along the 85 corridor with more complex systems and higher hot water demands. Jonathan has worked in both, and he assesses what's actually there without steering you toward work you don't need.
For homeowners on the edges of Cabarrus and into Rowan County, well water is still common — and Jonathan holds the NC Well Seal Certification to service those systems properly. From pressure tanks to pump replacements, he knows how private water systems behave in this area and how to keep them reliable year-round.
And when something goes wrong fast — a burst pipe, a water heater that stops working, a drain that's backing up — Jonathan is available for emergency calls Monday through Friday evenings and on Saturdays, because plumbing problems don't wait for business hours.

Tankless water heater upgrades are one of the most common requests Jonathan gets from Concord homeowners — and it makes sense. Many houses in Cabarrus County are still running aging tank water heaters that quietly drain money on energy bills every month, putting families one failure away from a cold shower or a flooded utility closet.
Jonathan is a Navien Certified Service Specialist with over 300 tankless systems serviced locally, and that hands-on experience makes a real difference. He's not guessing at installation details or reading a manual on the spot — he's done this hundreds of times in homes just like yours.
Just Outside Town Limits? You're Probably on a Well
Homes just outside the town limits are often on private wells rather than Charlotte Water, and that's a different set of problems: pressure tanks, pressure switches, and pump failures. Jonathan's Well Seal Certification covers that work, so you're not calling one company for the well and another for the plumbing.
Why Choose Us
Why Huntersville Homeowners Trust Macaw Plumbing & Tankless
There's no shortage of plumbing trucks working north Mecklenburg. What's harder to find is a licensed plumber who shows up himself, explains what he found, and doesn't work on commission.
Jonathan holds a North Carolina P1 Unlimited Plumbers License with Well Seal Certification — the highest residential license tier in the state — and we're fully insured. You don't have to take our word for any of that. The North Carolina State Board of Examiners of Plumbing, Heating and Fire Sprinkler Contractors maintains a public license lookup, and we'd encourage you to check us and anyone else you're considering. License #L.35944.
We're also honest about our limits. We are not a 24-hour operation. Our standard hours are Monday through Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM, with emergency availability Monday through Friday from 5 to 10 PM and Saturdays 8 AM to 10 PM. We'd rather tell you that plainly than promise round-the-clock service and leave you on hold at two in the morning.
And every month, through our Serving Hands program, we do a plumbing repair free of charge for a family who can't afford one. That's not a marketing line. It's why we started this.
